- Forklift Battery–Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) Battery
Nickel-metal hydride battery is a relatively new type of forklift battery. It consists of nickel hydroxide and cobalt hydride and is a green battery. The advantages of NiMH battery are high energy density, light weight, long life, short charging time and no harmful substances. However, its disadvantage is higher cost. Nickel-metal hydride batteries, like nickel-cadmium batteries, also belong to alkaline batteries, and their characteristics are similar to those of nickel-cadmium batteries, but nickel-metal hydride batteries do not contain cadmium and copper, so there is no heavy metal pollution problem.
- Forklift Battery–Lithium-ion Battery
Lithium-ion battery is a new choice of forklift battery in recent years. It consists of lithium ions and an electrolyte, making it a highly efficient battery. The advantages of lithium-ion battery are high energy density, light weight, short charging time, long life and no pollutants. However, it is costly and maintenance requires specific knowledge and skills.
