The battery is in the float charging stage most of the time during use. Figure 2, with a float charging voltage of 2.3V/Cel (the battery is composed of monoblocs, each monobloc cell is rated at 2V, for example, a 12V battery is composed of 6 monobloc cells, and the float charging voltage is 13.8V). At 20°C, the lifespan is about 10 years; at 25°C, the lifespan is about 9 years; at 30°C, the lifespan is about 7 years. For approximately every 1°C rise, the life decreases by 0.2-0.4 years and does not change linearly.
By analysing the three stages in storage, discharge and float charging, during the use of the battery, pay attention to the impact of temperature on the battery, and do a good job of temperature control to prevent premature battery obsolescence. In GB50174-2017 data centre design specification, the battery operating environment temperature is 20-30 ℃, in YD/T 799-2010 communication valve regulated sealed lead-acid battery standard, the battery capacity at 25 ℃ is 100%. Therefore, it is recommended that you set the ambient temperature to 25°C in the configuration of the UPS power system in the server room.
